AES Meeting - Officer Elections - 5/10/201
AES Columbia will be holding its last meeting of the semester ON FRIDAY, May 10th!
We will be holding officer elections for President, Vice President, Media Manager & Secretary. If you are interested in running please have a short presentation ready when you come to the meeting. We will also be discussing the March AES Student Summit to St. Louis, as well as AES’s plans for Manifest. We will also be going over general AES membership information, reviewing potential opportunities for students, and will be opening the floor for any questions or suggestions. Students who are interested in networking with their fellow AES members, officers, and audio engineers should join us.
Any student who is interested in audio is welcome to come.

AES Columbia, Student Chapter is the principle student group in the Audio Arts + Acoustics department and functions as the liaison to the local Audio Engineering Society (AES) Chapter. The group is committed to bringing together students with a mutual interest in audio technology. Through regular meetings, students have the opportunity to interact with other audio students at all levels of study, in effect networking with their potential future colleagues, employers, or employees. Any student enrolled at Columbia College with an interest in audio may join the group and attend AES events. Planned events often incorporate guest speakers such as local professionals, industry leaders, and audio innovators. Other possible monthly activities include critical listening sessions, student project presentations, equipment evaluations and comparisons, and audio facility tours.

AES DIY Meeting - 4/19/2013
AES Columbia will be holding its next meeting this Friday, April 19th!
This will be a DIY DAY. Be ready to bring your soldering iron, projects. If you do not have a soldering iron, we have access to some that you can borrow. We will also have the equipment for students to make their own XLR Cables. To create an XLR Cable, please bring $10 to cover the cost of the materials.
Otherwise, bring your own projects(broken cables, microphones, pedals, electronic toys) anything you might want to open up and try to solder. That is the audio experience! Students who are interested in networking with their fellow AES members, officers, and audio engineers should join us.

AES Columbia - Symphony Center Tour - Monday April 15th

10:00am-12:00pm (arrive no later than 9:50am in Symphony Center lobby, or join AES Group at 9:30am in 33 E. Congress lobby)

Join us for a rare backstage tour of the acoustically magnificent home of the world-renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra, led by one of the acousticians responsible for the recent redesign of Orchestra Hall.
A group will leave from the 33 E. Congress lobby at 9:30am to walk to Symphony Center. If you travel separately, plan to convene no later than 9:50am at the Symphony Center lobby in order to participate in the tour. Latecomers will NOT be able to join.

AES Meeting - 4/5/2013 - Circuit Bending Presentation
AES Columbia will be holding its next meeting THIS FRIDAY, April 5th!
This will be a short meeting as we have a special presenter Roth Mobot! Roth is a local Electronic Artist who specializes in circuit bending and creating experimental instruments/ sounds! We will also be discussing plans for future events. Students who are interested in networking with their fellow AES members, officers, and audio engineers should join us.
